Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity Blows Out Ord

(Game One)

Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity easily dispatched Ord 13-2 on Saturday. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity got things moving in the first inning, when PJ Dubbs doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity put up three runs in the fifth inning. The offensive firepower by Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity was led by Abby Cervera and Dubbs, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning. Cervera earned the win for Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity. She allowed six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out two and walking zero. Hailee Smith took the loss for Ord. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity had trouble keeping up with Kearney Catholic in a 15-2 loss on Saturday. Kearney Catholic scored six runs in the third inning. The big inning for Kearney Catholic came thanks to singles by Elsie HastingsJacee Nore, and Krista Lee, an error on a ball put in play by Sydney Owen, and a double by Carleigh EurekBaylie Luedke took the win for Kearney Catholic. She lasted three innings, allowing one hit and two runs while striking out five. Kynlee Marquez took the loss for Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity. She surrendered nine runs on three hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity socked one home run on the day. Marquez went yard in the third inning. Marquez went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity in hits. Lee led Kearney Catholic with three hits in four at bats. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity snatched the lead late in the game in a 10-3 victory over Lexington on Saturday. The game was tied at three with Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity batting in the bottom of the sixth when Karington Sims singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the sixth inning. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity's big inning was driven by singles by SimsNatasha Hock, and Emma Joppa, an error on a ball put in play by Janessa Kring, and a double by Kynlee MarquezSouthern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity got things started in the first inning when Abby Cervera singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. In the top of the fifth inning, Lexington tied things up at three. Klair Fagot homered on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs. After Lexington scored one run in the top of the third, Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity answered with one of their own. Lexington scored when Fagot tripled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity then answered when Cervera's sac fly scored one run for Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity. Marquez earned the win for Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity. She lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and three runs while striking out seven and walking zero. Stewart took the loss for Lexington.
