It came down to the last play, but Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity was on the wrong end of an 8-7 defeat to Holdrege on Monday. The game was tied at seven with Holdrege batting in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run for Holdrege.

Kynlee Marquez drove in four runners in the loss. Marquez drove in runs on a grand slam in the fourth.
