The softball team held its first home contest on Aug 24. The team took on Chase county first and run-ruled them in the 3rd inning. They won 16-0. The normal stories from Game Changer were not available since the game got run-ruled. The girls met Minden next and fought a hard battle to lose 13-1. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity struggled to get their offense going on Tuesday, getting easily dispatched by Minden, 13-1.
Minden scored ten runs in the fifth inning. Minden's big inning was driven by singles by Kaleigh Melory , Bailey Eckhardt, and Sonny Sowles, walks by Ellie Reichstein and Trinity Carr, a triple by Lily Bloomfield, by Lexi Anderson, and a double by Bloomfield. Carr was credited with the victory for Minden. The fireballer lasted five innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out four.Emma Joppa took the loss for Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity. The righty allowed 11 hits and 13 runs over five innings, striking out five. Sarah Holste led Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity with one hit in two at bats. Minden saw the ball well today, racking up 11 hits in the game. Bloomfield, Sowles, Melory , and Cloee Johnson all had multiple hits for Minden. Bloomfield went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Minden in hits.
