Running the Ball

Alma brings home a win in a nailbiter against Medicine Valley. The ending score was 40-38 by the end of the game. 

After the kick-off, Medicine Valley fumbled the ball. Jason Stenka picked up the ball. On the next play, Alma’s Ayden Molzahn scored a touchdown from the one-yard line. Later in the first quarter, Medicine Valley scores from their nine-yard line with a two-point conversion to follow. To finish off the first quarter, Ayden runs 38 yards for another cardinal touchdown. 

During the second quarter, Alma’s Ayden passed the ball 15 yards to Peyton Herrick for another touchdown. Medicine Valley follows up Alma’s score with a 17-yard pass for a touchdown. Later, the Medicine Valley team scores again to make the score 18-24 before halftime.

During the third quarter, the Cardinals failed to score, but Medicine Valley had one run into the end zone after a fumble recovery. The Cardinals held Medicine Valley, so those were the only points scored during the third quarter.

In the last quarter of the game, the Cardinals found a way to make three runs into the endzone. The first touchdown was made from the two-yard line by Ayden, followed by Alek Mohlzahn’s two-point conversion. Medicine Valley has a hard time stopping the Cards, as Ayden scores another touchdown. Ayden follows this with a two-point conversion. A final touchdown and two-point conversion were made in the third quarter by Ayden Molzahn for the Cardinals. Medicine Valley tried to catch up by scoring a touchdown with a pass for 15 yards, but failed to make the two-point conversion afterward, leaving the Cardinals with a 40-38 win!
