Thursday's game against Chase County was a heartbreaker for Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity, as they lost the lead late in a 28-18 defeat. The game was tied at 18 with Chase County batting in the top of the sixth when Kaylee Baker's wild pitch allowed one run to score for Chase County. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity's offense in the inning came from singles by Kenzi Kring and Zailey White, doubles by Brynn Bailey and Carlyn Stephen, a triple by Baker, and by Bailey. Hill took the win for Chase County. Hill went six innings, allowing 18 runs on 15 hits and striking out six. Baker took the loss for Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity. Baker allowed one hit and 19 runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four. Bailey started the game for Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity. The righty lasted two and a third innings, allowing two hits and nine runs while striking out two. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity racked up 15 hits on the day. Nakayla Hock, Stephen, Natasha Hock, Alivia Taylor, and White each managed multiple hits for Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity. Hock went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity in hits. Southern Valley/Alma Saints Varsity tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases.
