Boys Basketball

The Alma boys basketball team played Cambridge on February 11, 2022. 

The first quarter started off with the team scoring 15 points. Grant McQuay scored two 2-point shots. He was also fouled 2 times, making all 4 shots. Therefore, he made a total of 8 points in the first. Ryan Kermmoade and Jakin Neal each made one 2-point shot. As well as Ryan Brugh making one 3-point shot. The score ended 19-15 with Alma trailing.

In the second, Cambridge came out strong offensively. Alma only scored a total of 12 points. Jakin Neal scored two 3-point shots. Ryan Kermmoade scored one 2-point shot and both of his free throw shots. As well as Grant McQuay making one 2-point shot. The score ended the half 39-27 with Alma trailing.

In the third quarter, Peyton Herrick, Ryan Kermmoade, Grant McQuay, Ryan Brugh, and Jakin Neal all each made one 2-point shot. Together they scored a total of 10 points. Leaving the score 59-37.

In the last quarter, the boys picked up the pace. They played great offense, as well as defense. They held Cambridge to only scoring 9 points and scoring 20 points themselves. Peyton Herrick, Ryan Kermmoade, and Jakin Neal each scored one 3-point shot. As well as Neal making three two-point shots and 1 point from his free throw shots. 

The boys almost made a comeback towards the end of the game, but couldn’t quite catch up. Therefore, Alma lost with the final score of the night being 68-57.
