On Saturday, Gage Rupp competed at the Nebraska Jr. High State Cross Country Championships. The race is 3000m (almost 2 miles) and there were 302 runners in the 7th/8th grade division. They only gave medals to the top 25 runner, and Gage medaled in 25th place!!! He was one of only two 7th graders in the top 25. Since the JH state meet started in 2012, this is the first time a JH runner from Alma has entered the State JH XC race and medaled. Congratulations!! We got the goods! What a great day for our Cross country team! Every single runner PR’d today. The 5 medalists were Griffin Stemper 4th, Jaxon Tischner 8th, Bladyn Herrick 9th, and Nolan Pfeil 15th! Harper Fennel was 9th for the girls! The district meet will be back at Cambridge next Thursday at 2 PM. The top 15 individuals and Top 3 teams go to State. Go Cards!! #ProudToBeACardinal
