The seniors are having a great time on their trip to Omaha! We started out at the zoo and then went to the Open Door Mission for their service project followed by some bowling and arcade fun at the Mark and then a movie at the Majestic Theater. This morning they are taking in the fun at Top Golf before going to the mall and then heading home. Thanks, seniors for making it a memorable trip! #ProudToBeACardinal

Here are the results from today’s District Music Contests at Southern Valley! Alma took 19 events today, and 18 of the events brought home a superior rating, 1 event rated excellent. Alma also received 6 of the 12 outstanding performance awards given to the best solos and small groups chosen by the judges. The concert choir, concert band, jazz band and jazz choir all received superior ratings from all 3 judges earning them district plaques. The K-6 bridge projects are complete! Some of the students were successful in making their bridge stand alone, while others didn’t quite get the end product they had hoped for. It was so much fun watching them create their design! #ProudToBeACardinal

What a great day to be a Cardinal! We have District Music Contests today for our HS Students at Southern Valley. The schedule can be found at the link on the graphic. There is a Varsity Golf Triangular at Oxford starting at 2 PM (new starting time) as well as a JV Golf Meet in Franklin starting at 3 PM. After four days without school it is sure to be a busy day at APS! The Golf team has their home invite starting at 10 AM. The JH Track team is headed to Franklin for their meet that starts at 1 PM as well. On top of all that, the FFA has their banquet tonight at 6:30 PM. Mrs. Christensen had a ‘dinner’ in sign language for her students this morning! They have been learning some sign language and were able to put their skills to the test! #ProudToBeACardinal

More life skill presentations have included: budgeting, banking (with “Ms. Baker”), cheap eats, basic sewing, introduction to fishing, jumping your car and changing a tire. What great skills to learn! #ProudToBeACardinal
