Alma Public Schools is proud to announce Haylee Wing, daughter of Marty and Charlie Wolfe and Casey Howard, has been awarded the National Horatio Alger Scholarship. Haylee will receive her award this spring at the National Conference in Washington, DC. As one of the nation’s largest college financial aid programs in the country, the Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is one of the major scholarship programs nationally that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders. #ProudToBeACardinal

Mrs. Christensen’s first grade class did a fun and yummy STEM activity today using hot chocolate! They used 1 glass of cold water, 1 glass of warm water, and 1 glass of hot water. They timed how long it took to dissolve the hot chocolate mix in each temperature of water. After 2 minutes, they stopped mixing the cold cup because it wouldn’t dissolve! The warm water took 1 min and 8 seconds to dissolve, and the hot water only took 17 seconds to dissolve. Of course you can’t learn without trying the end result! #ProudToBeACardinal #SmartIsCool
