The 15 day Chinese New Year celebration finished today for both 2nd Grade classes. This year, 2020, is the Year of the Rat. They made Chinese Lanterns, red envelopes, and Chinese hats in Social Studies. They also read Chinese stories, watched videos, learned about the Zodiac, played a Kahoot, and learned about their birth year signs. To finish their unit, they did some Chinese cooking. Each child made an egg roll and then they made Chicken Fried Rice. They enjoyed cooking using woks and trying to eat using chopsticks. Both classes would like to wish everyone “Gong Hey Fat Choy” (Happy Chinese New Year). #ProudToBeACardinal

Mrs. Blank's 3rd grade has been learning about problem-solving, overcoming challenges, and working as a team. Today they had the challenge of making the longest paper chain from a single piece of paper with a time limit. They had time to plan their strategy before they started. After they finished they shared what their greatest struggles were, what worked well for their team, if they had to change their original strategy and how they worked together as a team! #ProudToBeACardinal
